Project Detals
The Vintage Craftsman #4 Bench Vise restoration project was a challenging but rewarding endeavor. I began by degreasing it in acetone, followed by sandblasting, though the old paint resisted removal even at 90 PSI. To tackle this, I applied Aircraft Paint Remover to loosen stubborn areas, then sandblasted again. After off-gassing it for two hours at 250 degrees and wiping it down with acetone, the vise was ready for coating. Using H-Series Cerakote in four colors, I achieved a durable and vibrant finish. It now looks like new and is protected from corrosion!01.
