These stencils were drawn in Adobe Illustrator, then sent to a vinyl plotter where they were cut out with precision. They were then weeded, leaving the stencils with an adhesive backing, ready to be applied to your object.

Here’s an example of stenciling on the first layer, Desert Verde, and third layer with a brown fade consisting of Flat Dark Earth and Chocolate Brown.

For the copper interior, I wasn’t able to spray the racking slot or other outside surfaces when shooting directly at the bottom of the upper receiver. I had to create masks in Illustrator, taking precise measurements, and tape off the external openings to spray from the outside, covering surfaces that are neither fully internal nor fully external—but made more sense to treat as internal. The end result turned out really badass and made the other colors pop. I’ll say it was worth the extra eight hours or so of work.
